Updates to the Mudita Pure's operating system are done through our desktop application Mudita Center, available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

How to update your Mudita Pure through Mudita Center
Connect your Mudita Pure to your computer with the USB-C cable and make sure that Mudita Center runs on your machine and recognizes your device.
Go to the “Overview” section inside Mudita Center.
In the sub-section showing your Mudita OS version, you will be shown your Pure's current system version and notified whether your phone needs updating with an “Update is available” prompt.
Click the “Download Now” button and follow the instructions.
After a successful update, your Pure will automatically restart. After that, you will be able to see your MuditaOS version in the “Overview” section.
Sequential Update
Some system releases can be installed only if your Pure is already running the previous software version. In these situations, a direct update from an older version is not possible. Instead, you would go through a sequential update, which will automatically take you through all the necessary steps to upgrade by multiple versions at once.
The instructions for a sequential update will be mostly the same as for a regular one, but:
The update prompt will be slightly different and include a list of all the versions that will be installed in sequence.
In most cases, you can simply click to begin the process, then wait for it to complete. It will take longer than a single update, but all stages will happen automatically.
The exception that would require your input during the process is if your Mudita Pure is secured by a passcode. In that situation, you will be asked to provide the code after each successfuly updated version before the process can continue to the next one.
Important Note
Remember not to use or unplug your Pure from the computer during the update process. The procedure can take several minutes to complete. Disrupting the update process can corrupt the phone's system, rendering the device unusable.
Troubleshooting Failed Updates
Here are some things you could try if you're unable to connect to Mudita Center and/or update the system on your Mudita Pure:
Try switching the USB port in your computer, through which you're connecting your Pure.
Restart the phone, then reconnect it to Mudita Center.
Restart your computer, then try again.
Try using a different USB-C cable.
If your computer has exclusively USB-C ports, please try to connecting using a USB-C to USB-C cable. This should work better than using an adapter with the original cable.Delete and reinstall Mudita Center, then try to connect your device (restart and reconnect it if not recognized right away).
Do a factory reset of your Pure (this process deletes all user data, so we recommend making a backup first if you wish to try this).
If the tips mentioned above fail, you could also try updating your Pure through another computer if you have access to one.
