Do the Mudita Bell and Bell 2 Tick or Make Any Other Sound?

The Mudita Bell and Bell 2 are designed to be as quiet as possible so that they don't cause disturbances in the bedroom. However, these clocks are not not completely silent, since they are based on an analog, mechanical design.

Quiet Flowing Mechanism

The Bell and Bell 2 don't tick like most conventional clocks, but they do still have a mechanism with spinning cogs, which produces a very slight, constant sound. In normal conditions, this sound shouldn't be noticeable to the user. It's possible to hear when listening closely.

The mechanism in the Bell and Bell 2 will also make a faint clicking sound when the alarm triggers or whenever the hour hand intersects with the alarm hand. This happens even with the alarm turned off.

Louder than Usual?

If your Mudita Bell or Bell 2 has an unusually loud mechanism that disturbs you at night or if it's making any irregular sounds (other than what's described above), it might be a faulty unit.
