No, the Mudita Pure is not equipped with a camera.

No Visual Media?

The Pure's e-ink display would be unable to show high-resolution color images like a smartphone screen or refresh fast enough for smooth video viewing. Because of that, it would be difficult to implement support for this kind of media. This would also severely hinder the capabilities of a camera if one was added to the phone.

Less Distractions

Our goal was to create a phone which helps its users live more in the present moment by removing many distractions present in smartphones. Wthout a camera, you won't be tempted to take out your phone to take pictures. Although you sacrifice the ability to take pictures, you can be fully present in the moment and immersed in your experiences.
