Ensure the crown is in its default position (fully pushed in), and then gently turn it clockwise. You will feel a smooth winding sensation. About 20-30 full rotations are usually sufficient to get it started. As the mainspring becomes fully wound, you may feel a slight increase in resistance. Do not force it further.
