Charging the Mudita Bell 2 and Checking the Battery Level
Modified on: Tue, 25 Jul, 2023 at 1:54 PM
When your Bell 2 is a new unit or when it runs out of battery power, we recommend charging the device for at least 2-3 hours before using it. Charging from 5% to 100% should take about 5 hours.
The Bell 2 can last even for several months of moderate use on a single charge. This can be considerably shortened by frequent use of the backlight or letting the alarm play long and on high volume.
Charging and Activating the Mudita Bell 2
Please plug the device into a USB charger or a computer’s USB port using the included USB-C cable or another similar cord. The clock should sound a signal when it's plugged into a compatible charger. It will also activate if it was previously turned off (if it's new).
If your Bell 2 still does not react despite it being plugged into a charger, please try to perform a factory reset. To reset the device, press the timer and light buttons simultaneously, for 5 seconds. Release when you hear a ringing sound, and the light turns off.
If the reset doesn’t help to activate your device, the Bell 2 may need more time to charge or it may require a different charger.
To charge correctly, the Bell 2 needs a 5V USB power supply (our power adapters added to orders should work just fine). 5V is the standard voltage for USB ports, however some fast phone chargers have variable voltage and also support higher voltages like 9V, 12V or 20V. These chargers might not work correctly with the Bell 2 in some cases.
If none of the USB chargers available to you seem to work, we recommend charging the Bell 2 using a computer’s USB port, which should always have a 5V output.
Battery Level Status
To check the battery level, light-click the main button and hold it for about 2 seconds. The clock voice its current battery charge level through its speaker.
Low Battery Warning
When the battery level is at less than 5%, a low battery level warning will be activated. When the battery is critically low, any interaction with the alarm clock will trigger the lights to flash and a low battery-level warning to sound. Functionalities are limited to time indication and alarm functionality. The device should be plugged in and charged immediately. Otherwise, its battery will be completely discharged, and the quartz mechanism will stop functioning.
